Actor Adam Brody has been criticized by Rabbi Steve Leder, a former technical consultant for the Netflix series 'Nobody Wants This', over his comments on the Israel-Gaza conflict. Brody had referred to Israel's attack on Gaza as a 'genocide' and expressed his desire for 'a free Palestine' in an interview with GQ.
Rabbi Leder responded to Brody's comments in a social media video, calling him an 'ignorant Jew' and stating that his use of the term 'genocide' was 'mischaracterized' and 'flippant'. Leder also advised Brody to refrain from speaking on topics he is not knowledgeable about.
Brody plays the role of Rabbi Noah Roklov in the Netflix series, and his comments on the Israel-Gaza conflict have sparked controversy. This is not the first instance of a celebrity facing backlash for their opinion on the conflict, as singer Macklemore was recently dropped from Ed Sheeran's tour after giving a 'Free Palestine' speech.
