Artificial intelligence giant Anthropic has reported a significant increase in revenue, with a 45% surge to $16.8bn in the three months to the end of September.
What happened
The company, which develops the AI model Claude, revealed the figures in a briefing for prospective investors as it prepares for a stock market listing. This comes amid concerns from some investors about the large amounts being spent on AI infrastructure.
Anthropic's revenue has consistently risen throughout the year, from $4.7bn in the first quarter to $11.6bn in the second quarter. The company also reportedly made a profit for the second quarter in a row.
The news comes as some tech stocks have fallen due to concerns over investments in AI. Shares in chip makers such as AMD, Nvidia, and Intel have dropped sharply, while Asian tech companies like Softbank, Samsung, and SK Hynix have also seen significant declines.
