Arkia, an Israeli airline, intends to start direct flights between Tallinn and Tel Aviv during the summer season of next year.
What happened
The plan to launch direct flights is driven by Israeli tour operators' interest in bringing tourists to Estonia, following successful experiences in Lithuania.
A member of the Tallinn Airport management board, Eero Pärgmäe, stated that the primary goal of the planned air route is to increase inbound tourism to Estonia.
However, the finalization of the route details is still underway, and the success of the planned flights depends on the security situation in the region.
