Bill Maher, host of HBO's Real Time, criticized New York City Mayor Zohran Mamdani for his response to the anniversary of the October 7 attack. According to Maher, Mamdani was not very sympathetic to the anniversary and instead shifted the focus to Israel, stating that Israel was responsible for the attack.
Maher mentioned that Mamdani initially made some positive remarks about the attack, condemning it, but then quickly changed his tone to blame Israel. Maher jokingly referred to Mamdani's past as a rapper, saying his rap name should be Tone Deaf.
The comments were made during Maher's opening monologue on Friday's broadcast of Real Time. Maher highlighted the issues in New York, including the mayor's response to the attack anniversary.
