What happened
A mass shooting occurred at a Detroit strip club early Sunday morning, resulting in the deaths of three people and injuring four others. The shooting stemmed from a fight and all victims were in their 20s and 30s. The wounded, consisting of two men and two women, were rushed to hospitals in private cars and are in stable condition.
According to Detroit Police Chief Todd Bettison, the location of the shooting was not surprising as police had been called to the location seven times in 2026. The strip club was apparently operating illegally out of a residential area. Bettison stated that a fight occurred and individuals resorted to gun violence to settle it.
Detroit Mayor Mary Sheffield expressed her heartbreak over the incident and called for the community to speak up to bring justice to the situation. She also vowed to work with the police chief to crack down on illegal after-hour operations in the city.
