The Israeli Agriculture and Food Security Ministry has announced a price increase for regulated eggs, effective November 1, 2026.
What happened
The price hike of approximately 2.1% will result in a 12-pack of eggs costing 27 to 33 agorot more, depending on the egg size.
The ministry attributes the price increase to changes in production and marketing costs, including the cost of feed for laying hens, wages, energy, and packaging.
The new maximum consumer prices for a 12-pack of eggs, including VAT, will be:
- Size M eggs: NIS 13.40, an increase of 27 agorot from NIS 13.13
- Size L eggs: NIS 14.54, an increase of 30 agorot from NIS 14.24
- Size XL eggs: NIS 15.81, an increase of 33 agorot from NIS 15.48
This price update is part of an automatic mechanism that reviews changes in egg prices quarterly, allowing prices to rise or fall based on changes in costs.
