The Epoch Times

A 34-year-old failed asylum seeker from Kuwait has been sentenced to life in prison for planning a terrorist attack on the Israeli embassy in London.

What happened

A 34-year-old failed asylum seeker from Kuwait has been sentenced to life in prison with a minimum term of 20 years for planning a terrorist attack on the Israeli embassy in London.

Abdullah Sabah Albadri attempted to climb over the gates of the embassy on April 28, 2025, but was stopped by police. He was found to be carrying two knives and a note about martyrdom, and had searched for terms related to suicide and martyrdom online in the days leading up to the incident.

Albadri was convicted of preparing a terrorist act and two counts of possession of a pointed or bladed article. According to the police, he wanted to attack the embassy as an act of revenge against the Israeli government's actions in Gaza.

The incident occurred just 16 days after Albadri arrived in the UK on a small boat across the English Channel from France, where he claimed asylum.

The police investigation found that Albadri had planned to carry out a terrorist attack, and his actions were prevented by officers on duty who stopped him from breaching the security perimeter.
