Finnish Prime Minister Petteri Orpo has arrived in Ukraine to show Finland's strong support for the country as it continues to face aggression and prepares for the upcoming winter.
What happened
During his visit, Prime Minister Orpo will meet with several members of Ukraine's political leadership to discuss key issues, including the country's bid for EU membership. Finland has been a strong supporter of Ukraine, providing nearly EUR 5 billion in assistance since the start of the war, with a significant portion of this aid being in the form of defense materiel.
A Ukrainian-Finnish business forum will also be held during the visit, attended by representatives from over ten Finnish companies and other stakeholders. This forum aims to promote economic cooperation and support Ukraine's economic recovery.
Finland's support for Ukraine is notable, given the country's relatively small economy. The visit underscores Finland's commitment to helping Ukraine navigate its current challenges and achieve its goals, including EU integration.
