What happened
France is facing a debt crisis, with roughly €3.6 trillion in public debt and rapidly approaching budget decisions, amidst political unrest in the streets. The country's deficit is expected to be more than double what was initially stated, sparking concerns of a potential collapse.
Glenn Beck has drawn parallels between France's situation and Greece's catastrophic crash in 2009. He notes that Greece's debt was around €300 billion, whereas France's debt is more than 10 times that amount, making it a much more severe crisis.
Beck argues that the situation in France is a 'dress rehearsal' for what could happen in America, given the country's own debt and the presence of Marxist and Islamist ideologies. He warns that the US is unable to bail out other countries due to its own $40 trillion debt, leaving no 'lifeguard' to rescue struggling nations.
Beck also points out that the consequences of such a crisis can be severe, citing Greece's experience where the economy shrank by 25%, unemployment hit 27%, and a whole generation was forced to leave the country. He notes that the only reason Greece was able to recover was due to Germany's financial support, but France may not have the same luxury.
