FSB Detains Minor After US Warns of Possible Moscow Terror Attack
NBC News

Russia's FSB detained a minor after receiving information from US law enforcement about a possible terrorist attack in Moscow, which led to the temporary closure of a museum and park complex. The detention came after a warning of a credible threat of a mass casualty event.

Russia's Federal Security Service (FSB) received information from US law enforcement about preparations for a terrorist attack in Moscow.

What happened

The FSB verified the information and detained a Russian minor as a result of the operations. The minor had posted photos on TikTok wearing tactical gear and holding an object resembling an automatic weapon.

A search of the minor's devices revealed a subscription to a neo-Nazi channel on Telegram and search queries concerning past terrorist attacks and mass shootings.

The US Embassy in Moscow was aware of a credible threat of a mass casualty event at the Tsaritsyno Museum Reserve, which was temporarily closed, and access to the park was restricted.
