Oil prices fell after the G-7 agreed to release crude oil and fuel from emergency stocks and not restrict exports, with Brent crude and WTI futures decreasing.

What happened

Oil prices have decreased following the Group of Seven's decision to release crude oil and fuel from their emergency stocks and not restrict oil exports.

The price of Brent crude futures fell by 1.1% to $101.23 per barrel, while West Texas Intermediate futures dropped by 2.3% to $90.70 per barrel.

These price decreases occurred as Middle Eastern crude export figures appear to be recovering, despite ongoing shipping risks in the Strait of Hormuz.
