Germany has announced a new military aid package for Ukraine worth approximately $1.1 billion. The package includes funding for the joint production of anti-jet drones, combat drones, satellite technology, and standoff weapons to counter Russian missile launch sites. German Chancellor Friedrich Merz made the announcement during a trip to Kyiv, where he met with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy.

Merz stated that Germany is providing around 350 million euros for repairs to Ukraine's energy sector, including generators and substations, to help mitigate damage from Russian attacks on energy infrastructure. The German business sector also signed 14 agreements with the Ukrainian government and businesses worth about $7.4 billion.

The agreements include deals for the supply of IRIS-T air defense missiles, radar equipment, and jet drone interceptors. Zelenskyy thanked Merz for Berlin's support, highlighting the mutual benefits of their cooperation, including joint drone production and job creation in both countries.
