Growing Anti-Israel Sentiment Sparks Concern

Growing Anti-Israel Sentiment Sparks Concern
Washington Examiner

Anti-Israel hatred is on the rise, with many students and professors demonizing the Jewish state, and some politicians blaming Israel for genocide. However, history shows that such sentiments can be temporary.

Anti-Israel sentiment is increasing, with many students, professors, and politicians expressing hatred towards the Jewish state.

What happened

In recent years, criticism of Israel's military response to Hamas' invasion has gained traction, particularly among young people and those with antisemitic views. Some Democratic senators have also turned on Israel, embracing the false narrative that the country committed genocide. Additionally, conservative and nativist intellectuals have questioned Israel's behavior and the wisdom of continuing a close US partnership with the country.

Historically, the political Left has demonized various countries and causes, only to move on to new targets when public attention wanes. Examples include the Shah of Iran, El Salvador, and Cuba. Similarly, activists have rallied around various movements, such as the Arab Spring and Occupy Wall Street, often without fully understanding the complexities of the issues.

Many experts believe that the current obsession with Israel is not permanent and that the movement's proponents, often funded by Qatari and Chinese money, may ultimately alienate mainstream America with their extreme views.
