Iran is facing potential gas shortages due to supply problems and damage to its refineries, according to a government spokeswoman.
What happened
The spokeswoman warned that these issues could lead to fuel supply problems in northern Iran during the winter. Additionally, the country's currency has hit a record low, with 2.5 million rials now equivalent to one US dollar.
The currency devaluation occurred on Tuesday, amidst the ongoing US blockade. The combination of these factors may exacerbate economic challenges for Iran, particularly in terms of accessing and distributing fuel.
