Iran's Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi stated that Iran is prepared for a 'doomsday war' with the US, while also expressing a preference for peace. Araghchi mentioned a seven-day cease-fire proposal that was rejected by President Trump. The proposal included the US unfreezing $12 billion in frozen Iranian assets, ending the blockade, and easing sanctions in exchange for the reopening of the Strait of Hormuz.
President Trump rejected the proposal, with administration officials arguing that it required too many concessions from the US. Araghchi noted that despite Trump's rejection, Iran is still waiting for an official response through mediators.
