What happened
Israeli forces have destroyed a major Hezbollah stronghold in southern Lebanon, known as the "Ali Taher" ridge. The operation, which lasted four months, involved the use of 1,100 tons of explosives to destroy 5,410 meters of underground tunnels.
The Israeli military, led by the commander of the Northern Command, Major General Raffi Milo, and the commander of the 36th Division, Brigadier General Yiftach Norkin, carried out the operation with precision and caution. The forces involved in the operation included the Golani Brigade, the Commando Brigade, and the Yahalom unit.
The operation was marked by intense fighting, with Hezbollah militants attempting to defend their positions and Israeli forces using advanced tactics and techniques to overcome them. The Israeli military also used drones to drop supplies, including chocolate and cigarettes, to the militants, but later used this tactic to their advantage by targeting the militants when they emerged to collect the supplies.
The destruction of the stronghold is seen as a significant blow to Hezbollah's capabilities in southern Lebanon. The Israeli military has stated that the operation was carried out with the goal of improving security in the region and preventing future attacks by the militant group.
