What happened
Israeli military foiled a large-scale arms smuggling attempt from Jordan. Two suspects from Jericho crossed into Jordan and returned with bags containing over 30 handguns and two M-16 rifles.
Female scouts from the 909th Combat Collection Battalion identified the suspects and tracked them, alerting forces that set up ambushes and arrested them.
The suspects, two men in their 50s from Jericho, were found with the weapons and were taken for further investigation.
The incident highlights the importance of the scouts' work in the area, with one scout stating that if they hadn't been vigilant, the smuggling attempt might have gone undetected.
