What happened
Brigitte Gabriel, a Lebanese-born Christian, shared her personal experience of living through Islamic extremism. At 13 years old, she was preparing for death as Islamic extremists threatened to attack her town. Gabriel's family had planned for her to escape to Israel if they were attacked, but instead, Israel established a security zone around their town, protecting them from harm.
Gabriel recounted how her home was blown up by Islamists, leaving her in a hospital for two and a half months. She then lived in a bomb shelter for seven years without basic necessities like electricity and water. To get water, she would have to crawl under sniper fire.
According to Gabriel, the problems in her home country of Lebanon began when the government allowed people with opposing values to immigrate. These newcomers used the country's democratic system to undermine its democracy and ultimately destroy it.
Gabriel's story serves as a warning to America, emphasizing the importance of being mindful of the values of those who immigrate to the country. She believes that if a country does not share a set of common values, it can lead to the downfall of its democracy.
