Macron Criticizes Foreign Leaders for Comments on French Riots
Breitbart News

French President Emmanuel Macron criticized foreign leaders for making 'stupid' comments about the riots in France, in an apparent swipe at US President Donald Trump, and blamed 'foreign manipulation of information' for their views.

French President Emmanuel Macron has criticized foreign leaders for their comments on the recent riots in France, describing their remarks as stupid and unacceptable.

What happened

Macron made the comments while on a trip to Doha, Qatar, where he appeared visibly annoyed when discussing the issue. He blamed foreign manipulation of information, including AI-generated images of riots, for leading to foreign observers failing to share his views on the events.

Macron's remarks have been interpreted as a swipe at US President Donald Trump, who has commented on the riots. The French President claimed that some people were campaigning at France's expense by echoing narratives about the riots, and that anyone speaking ill of France was not a friend to the country.

Other European leaders, including German Chancellor Friedrich Merz, have spoken out about the migration character of the riots. Merz stated that the violence was most likely the result of non-integrated people due to migration. Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk and Hungarian Prime Minister Péter Magyar have also commented on the issue, with Tusk saying that Poland would not repeat the mistakes of France and Magyar advocating for a strict approach to migration.
