What happened
Secretary of War Pete Hegseth has announced that the public will be able to watch the execution of Nidal Hasan, a terrorist who carried out a mass shooting at Fort Hood in 2009. The execution is scheduled to take place on December 3, 2026, at 1:00 p.m., the same time Hasan's attack occurred.
Hasan's attack on November 5, 2009, left 13 people dead and many others wounded. During the attack, he shouted “Allahu Akbar”. The execution will be by firing squad, as approved by President Donald Trump.
According to Sec. Hegseth, the public will be able to watch the execution, as “people need to understand that there’s serious consequences for these types of things”.
