The Daily Wire

New York City Mayor Zohran Mamdani marks October 7 anniversary by accusing Israel of genocide and war crimes, while Governor Kathy Hochul remembers the victims of the attacks.

What happened

New York City Muslim Mayor Zohran Mamdani marked the three-year anniversary of the October 7 attacks by accusing Israel of genocide and war crimes. Mamdani claimed that Israel's actions in Gaza have resulted in the deaths of over 74,000 Palestinians, including more than 21,000 children. He also alleged that Israel has targeted ambulances, residential buildings, and journalists, and blocked food aid.

In contrast, New York Democratic Governor Kathy Hochul focused her tribute on the victims of the October 7 attacks, remembering the over 1,100 Israelis killed and 251 others abducted by Hamas. The Israeli Consulate in New York invited Mamdani to a screening of a film documenting the atrocities committed by Hamas, but he did not respond to the invitation.

Mamdani is scheduled to attend a vigil in remembrance of October 7th and meet with Palestinian New Yorkers. The anniversary of the October 7 attacks has sparked controversy and debate, with different leaders offering varying perspectives on the events and their aftermath.
