What happened
Palestinians in Gaza and the West Bank celebrated the anniversary of a deadly attack on Israel that occurred three years ago. On October 7, Hamas terrorists breached Israel's southern border, killing 1,200 innocent women, children, and men, including 46 Americans. Twelve American hostages were also taken, with one four-year-old girl being held captive for 50 days.
The Palestinians' celebrations were marked by cheering, shouting, and praise for the terrorists who carried out the attack. Some Palestinians even helped drag the bodies of those killed through the streets, kicking and desecrating the remains. The attacks were widely condemned, but some individuals in the West, including the wife of New York City Mayor Zohran Mamdani, were found to have celebrated the attacks on social media.
In the years since the attack, some businesses in the US have also been found to be celebrating the anniversary. A coffee shop in Texas, for example, offered free lattes to customers who wore a keffiyeh and could tell them the significance of the date.
