New England Patriots owner Robert Kraft has donated $2 million to aid those affected by the humanitarian crisis in Gaza. The donation was made after singer Ed Sheeran asked Kraft to match his own $2 million donation to support the region.
Kraft's donation comes amid controversy surrounding rapper Macklemore's removal from Sheeran's tour. Macklemore had made comments in support of Palestinians, which led to his removal from the tour. Kraft stated that Sheeran's request for the donation was made before Macklemore's challenge to donate to organizations supporting Palestinians.
Kraft emphasized his commitment to building bridges between people and noted that he has supported efforts to create opportunities for Palestinians and bring young Palestinians and Israelis together. The donation is intended to help alleviate the humanitarian crisis in Gaza, which has been affected by the Israel-Hamas war.
