Texas authorities and federal agents thwarted a planned attack on the Texas State Capitol in Austin.
What happened
A 40-year-old suspect, identified as Benny Caldera Jr., was arrested at his residence in Converse, a suburb of San Antonio, after a joint operation by the Texas Department of Public Safety and the Federal Bureau of Investigation.
The arrest was made in response to a credible threat to attack the Capitol building on October 1. A SWAT team was involved in the apprehension of the suspect, who was taken into custody early on Wednesday morning.
