Poland has been placed on high alert following a possible plot to attack its Prime Minister, Donald Tusk, and Defense Minister, Władysław Kosiniak-Kamysz.
What happened
According to Poland's police, they received information about the potential threat, which was considered to have a high probability of being carried out. The police spokesperson, Jacek Dobrzyński, stated that the matter was being taken extremely seriously.
The threat was first reported to the state protection service, which then informed the police. An emergency meeting was held on Sunday, involving security services, police, and representatives of the Interior Ministry, to discuss the situation.
This development comes amid a series of school stabbings in central Poland, which left one dead and many wounded, including children. Additionally, there are concerns about a possible Russian hybrid attack aimed at weakening Western support for Ukraine.
Prime Minister Tusk had previously warned about the likelihood of intensified hybrid attacks by Russia on NATO's eastern flank, including potential strikes on European countries supporting Ukraine.
