Rep. Brandon Gill (R-TX) recently shared his thoughts on high fuel prices during an appearance on Fox News Channel's Sunday Night in America. He stated that the current Iran war is causing a temporary increase in fuel prices. However, Gill believes that Democrats are being insincere about their concerns over gas prices, as they have historically supported policies that hinder domestic energy production.
Gill cited the Democrats' attempts to kill the Keystone XL pipeline and their goal of moving away from fossil fuels as evidence of their intentions. In contrast, he emphasized the importance of implementing policies like permitting reform to boost America's domestic energy production, which he believes will help keep gas prices down in the long term.
The congressman also stressed the need for Republican control of the House, Senate, and presidency to pass the necessary reforms and ensure the growth of domestic energy production.
