What happened
Russia has launched a series of drone attacks on Ukraine, resulting in the deaths of at least seven people and injuring over 50 others. The attacks targeted various locations, including apartment buildings, offices, and a cultural landmark in Kyiv.
The Russian drone strikes hit several cities and towns in Ukraine, including Kyiv, Dnipro, and Kharkiv. In Kyiv, the National Academy of Sciences building was damaged, and a woman was killed in a strike on the Shevchenkivskyi district. A pharmaceutical company and gas stations were also hit.
In Dnipro, an office center was struck, killing three people and wounding at least 12. In Kharkiv, a nine-story apartment building was hit, injuring 43 people, including 11 children.
The Russian Defense Ministry claimed that its forces struck two data centers in Kyiv, as well as gas stations and a distribution hub belonging to the Nova Poshta postal service in Odesa. The ministry also said that Russian forces hit a cargo ship in the Black Sea and another in the Ukrainian port of Chornomorsk.
The Ukrainian army reported that it has advanced on the eastern front line, recapturing 51 square kilometers of territory from the Russians. The army used converted Soviet-era armored personnel carriers and ground robots to break through Russian defenses.
