A 68-year-old Russian man, identified as Igor Odintsov, has been sentenced to six years in prison in Russia. He was convicted for making social media posts criticizing Russia's war in Ukraine. Odintsov had previously traveled to Lithuania by boat from the Kaliningrad region and was denied asylum.
According to reports, Odintsov was returned to Russia by Lithuanian border guards after he arrived in the country on September 17. The decision to return him was made after it was determined that he had not formally requested asylum, despite making statements that could be considered a request for international protection.
