A Russian oil terminal was reportedly bombed by Ukraine, just hours after President Trump announced a deal with Russian President Putin to supply diesel to the US and global markets. The terminal, located in Rostov-on-Don, is a key export facility for petroleum products, including diesel.
According to reports, Ukrainian drones struck the terminal, causing a major fire. The terminal has a design capacity of around 2.5-3.5 million tons per year and handles petroleum products for export via the Sea of Azov, as well as supplies linked to Russian military use.
The bombing occurred after President Trump announced that Russia would supply over 300,000 tons of diesel fuel to the US and global markets, with additional shipments to follow. The deal aimed to lower diesel prices for Americans, particularly farmers, ranchers, and truckers.
Ukrainian military sources had earlier stated that the Trump administration's attempt to use Russian diesel to lower US prices before the midterms would not be successful. The same terminal had been struck by Ukrainian forces earlier, in July 2026, causing a fire.
