NBC News

Saudi Arabia's main international airport was hit by a second attack in two days, injuring people, after a deadly missile attack killed 13 and injured 309 on Saturday.

What happened

Saudi Arabia's main international airport was struck by an unidentified projectile, injuring people, a day after a deadly missile attack killed at least 13 and injured over 300. The latest attack hit Terminal 4 of King Khalid International Airport in Riyadh, causing a fire.

The Saudi-led coalition reported intercepting and destroying a cruise missile near the airport. Saturday's strike drew widespread condemnation, with the US, Egypt, Qatar, Germany, and Canada condemning the attacks.

The Houthis, who are backed by Iran, have been stepping up attacks on Saudi territory. The group did not immediately claim responsibility for the latest attack but renewed a warning to stay away from Saudi airports.

The attack has raised questions about whether the US will join the conflict in the region. President Donald Trump said the US is considering joining Saudi military operations against the Houthis, stating that the US would make a decision quickly.
