A second strike on Riyadh's international airport in two days has resulted in one death and 11 injuries, according to Saudi officials. The attack, which was claimed by the Houthi group, hit King Khalid International Airport, causing a fire in one of its passenger halls.
The incident occurred a day after a similar strike on the same airport killed 13 people and injured 308 others. The Houthi group, which is backed by Iran, has warned airlines and passengers against using Saudi Arabian airports and airspace, and has vowed to continue its operations against the country.
The group's military spokesman, Brig Gen Yahya Saree, said that they had targeted the airport with a mix of ballistic and cruise missiles, as well as drones, and had also attacked oil facilities and Dammam airport in eastern Saudi Arabia. The Houthis have said that they are targeting Saudi Arabia over its support for government forces in Yemen's civil war.
The Saudi-led coalition has vowed to respond to the attacks, calling them a war crime. The US and UK have also condemned the attacks, with US President Donald Trump saying that the US would make a decision and move very quickly on whether to strike the Houthis.
