What happened
A terror attack on King Khalid International Airport in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, has resulted in the deaths of at least 13 people and injured more than 300. The attack, which occurred on October 10, was carried out by Iran-backed Houthis in Yemen, who claimed responsibility for the attack.
The Saudi-led coalition forces in Yemen condemned the attack, stating that it constitutes a war crime under international law. The coalition forces also reported that the deceased included citizens from several countries, including the United States, Saudi Arabia, Bangladesh, Palestine, Egypt, Jordan, Syria, and Sudan.
The attack has been widely condemned by international leaders, including U.S. President Donald Trump, who stated that what happened in Saudi Arabia is not acceptable. The U.S. Secretary of State, Marco Rubio, also condemned the attack, noting that one U.S. citizen was among those killed.
The Houthis have threatened further attacks, stating that unless the Saudi enemy stops its aggression and interference in Yemen, worse is yet to come. The U.S. State Department has warned Americans to exercise caution when traveling in the region, and the U.S. Embassy in Riyadh has strongly recommended that all U.S. citizens avoid King Khalid International Airport and surrounding areas.
