What happened
A transgender individual, Anthony Slota, also known as 'Violet', has been arrested in Alabama on gun charges related to a terrorism investigation into his roommate, Levi Belcher. The investigation began after online threats to kill immigration agents were discovered.
Slota and Belcher were found with numerous weapons and anti-government materials in their vehicle and apartment. Slota has a history of endorsing violence against political enemies and training with firearms, according to his online footprint.
The Department of Justice has charged Belcher, Slota, and a third roommate with possessing illegal rifles. Belcher is also charged with making threats against immigration agents in December 2025.
Slota's arrest is linked to a growing trend of leftist gun fandom, with some individuals adopting a mindset of armed community defense against the government or right-wing extremists.
