President Donald Trump announced that Russia has agreed to supply millions of tons of diesel to the American and global markets. This decision comes after a call with Russian President Vladimir Putin. According to Trump, Russia will immediately supply over 300,000 tons of diesel fuel, followed by an additional 500,000 tons in November, and 1,000,000 tons thereafter.
Trump stated that Russia will then deliver another 3 million tons of diesel within a short period, depending on the condition of its refineries. The president believes that this agreement, combined with the US control of the Strait of Hormuz, will lead to a significant decrease in diesel prices for Americans and the world.
Currently, the average US diesel price is $6.28 per gallon, according to data from the American Automobile Association. Trump emphasized that lowering prices for Americans, particularly farmers, ranchers, and truckers, is his top priority.
