President Donald Trump has revealed plans to deploy the largest nonnuclear bomb in the US arsenal against Iran.
What happened
The proposed plan involves using the GBU-43/B Massive Ordnance Air Blast, also known as the "mother of all bombs," to target Iranian energy infrastructure and nuclear facilities.
The bomb, weighing approximately 21,000 pounds, is a GPS-guided conventional explosive weapon designed to destroy large surface targets and create an intense pressure wave capable of damaging structures across a broad area.
Trump assured that the bomb is not nuclear, describing it as "an extremely large bomb" that is "like a tiny nuclear bomb." The US is considering this plan as the conflict in Iran remains unresolved after over seven months.
