The Ukrainian military has achieved a groundbreaking feat by conducting the world's first drone airlift of a wounded soldier from the front line.
What happened
A wounded serviceman was in a precarious situation, surrounded by landmines and under threat from Russian drones, making a ground rescue impossible.
A heavy hexacopter, controlled by a remote operator, was deployed to airlift the soldier to safety. The Ukrainian military reported that the drone maintained stability throughout the challenging operation.
The 92nd Assault Brigade released footage of the airlift, which has been verified by BBC Verify, confirming the identities of the personnel involved and finding no evidence of AI generation or manipulation.
