SpaceX has restored the speeds of its Starlink satellite internet service in Ukraine, following a temporary throttle that disrupted the country's drone operations.
What happened
Elon Musk, the CEO of SpaceX, admitted that his company had throttled the Starlink service, citing the use of the service for offensive drone strikes as a violation of the terms of service.
The throttle had caused disruptions to Ukraine's front-line operations, with commanders reporting lost drones and disrupted missions. However, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy announced that the speeds had been restored to their previous levels, improving logistics and defense against Russian drones.
The restoration of Starlink speeds comes amid a new US diplomatic push to end the war, with Russia agreeing to resume negotiations with Washington and Kyiv next month.
