The US and Israel are reportedly planning to resume strikes on Iran, with a focus on the country's nuclear program and energy infrastructure.
What happened
According to a report, American and Israeli war-planners are preparing to launch new strikes on Iran, possibly after the US midterm elections on November 3. The plans allegedly avoid targeting refineries and oil infrastructure.
Israeli military jets have been spotted maneuvering near the Iranian border, and some officials believe the action may come sooner, potentially even before the Israeli parliamentary elections on October 27.
The US has denied planning such strikes, but has evacuated nonessential personnel from diplomatic posts in Saudi Arabia due to the threat of Houthi strikes. Meanwhile, Iran has continued its operations in the Persian Gulf, claiming to have struck four tankers.
