The US Embassy in Moscow warned of a potential terrorist attack at the Tsaritsyno Museum Reserve, prompting Russia's FSB to take measures. The embassy advised people to avoid the area and stay alert. The warning came after the US government received credible threat information.

The US Embassy in Moscow issued a warning about a potential terrorist attack at the Tsaritsyno Museum Reserve, a popular tourist destination in southern Moscow.

What happened

The embassy stated that it was aware of a credible threat of a mass casualty event and was coordinating with Russian authorities on a response. As a precaution, the embassy advised people to avoid the area, stay alert, and avoid crowds.

Russia's FSB security service confirmed that it had received information from the US regarding the preparation of a terrorist attack and was taking appropriate measures. The Tsaritsyno museum was reportedly closed, with law enforcement officers on the premises.

The US has previously provided Russia with warnings of planned attacks, including one in March 2024 that preceded an ISIS-K attack on a Moscow concert hall that killed over 100 people.
