US Imposes Sanctions on 13 Entities for Aiding Iran's Weapons Procurement
The Epoch Times

The US has sanctioned 13 individuals and entities for helping Iran obtain weapons and components, aiming to degrade Tehran's ability to reconstitute its weapons programs.

What happened

The United States has imposed sanctions on 13 individuals and entities from Russia, China, Hong Kong, and Pakistan for allegedly helping Iran obtain weapons and components. The sanctions aim to degrade Tehran's ability to reconstitute its weapons programs and increase costs for those who supply them.

Those sanctioned include Seyyed Asghar Alizadeh Tabatabai, a representative of Iran's Ministry of Defense, and several companies, such as Joint Stock Company Experimental Design Bureau named after A.S. Yakovlev, a Russian aircraft manufacturer, and SAHA Airlines, an Iran-based airline affiliated with the Islamic Republic of Iran Air Force.

The sanctions were issued by the Treasury and State Department officials and are part of an effort to isolate Iran economically and pressure the regime to negotiate an end to the Iran war. The US has imposed dozens of new sanctions over the past year and has convened representatives from 40 countries to strengthen implementation.
