A US congressman has urged the use of maximum financial pressure on Russia to end the war in Ukraine, similar to the approach taken with Iran.

Rep. Marlin Stutzman stated that the same financial pressure being applied to Iran should be used on Russia. He cited Russia's invasion of Ukraine and the resulting loss of life as reasons for this approach.
According to Stutzman, Russian leader Vladimir Putin's actions, including the use of North Korean soldiers, demonstrate his desperation. The congressman acknowledged that imposing sanctions on Russia could lead to higher fuel prices but argued that it is necessary to end the war in Ukraine.
Stutzman referenced the sanctions bill passed in Congress, which aims to give the President the ability to impose heavy sanctions on Russia. He emphasized that maximum financial pressure is needed to bring an end to the conflict.
