President Donald Trump has suggested that the United States may launch another military operation against Iran if a deal is not reached.
What happened
Trump made the comments at a midterm rally in Fort Myers, Florida, on Friday, stating that the US may do another "little" version of Operation Epic Fury, the US military operation that started the conflict with Iran in late February.
The president's comments come as the conflict between the US and Iran has stalled in recent weeks, with the Trump administration shifting tactics and increasing economic pressure on Iran through a military blockade of Iranian ports and sanctions under Operation Economic Outcast.
US Ambassador to Turkey and special envoy Tom Barrack had previously suggested that there could be a US strike against Iran as early as this weekend, stating that the president is open to a deal but will not hesitate to take action if Iran continues to threaten US allies and the rest of the world.
Trump also announced that the US would "take care of Cuba" after the conflict with Iran is ended, suggesting that a US warship could be sent to the coast of Cuba.
