Vice President JD Vance has been criticized by Fox and Friends hosts Brian Kilmeade and Lawrence Jones for not endorsing Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's reelection. Vance stated that he is not getting involved in the Israeli elections and is currently focused on the US midterms.
What happened
Kilmeade and Jones slammed Vance as "anti-Israel" due to his decision not to endorse Netanyahu. Kilmeade pointed out that Vance went out of his way to say he was not endorsing Netanyahu, even though the President had done so. Jones called Vance's decision an "unforced error" and said there was no reason for him to say that.
Vance had previously campaigned for Viktor Orban in Hungary, which Kilmeade used as an example to suggest that Vance does involve himself in other countries' elections. The Fox and Friends hosts, including Ashley Earnhardt, agreed that Vance's decision was disappointing and added to his apparent "anti-Israel" streak.
The criticism comes after President Trump endorsed Netanyahu less than two weeks before the October 27 election, following previous tensions between the two leaders. Trump has shown signs of disagreement with Netanyahu on several occasions, including over the sale of F-35s to Turkey and Israeli attacks in Lebanon.
