According to recent studies, Wi-Fi signals can be used to monitor breathing patterns, track movement, and even detect heartbeats. An engineer's post, which was seen by nearly 2 million readers, claimed that breathing patterns can be detected through Wi-Fi signals, as each breath slightly changes how Wi-Fi waves reflect off the chest.
These claims are corroborated by various reports, including those from the government. A report from the National Institute of Standards and Technology found that Wi-Fi signals can be used to detect breathing rates, breathing patterns, and other disruptions with a high degree of accuracy. Additionally, Taiwanese researchers found that breathing rates can be monitored through Wi-Fi signal disruptions with up to 95% accuracy, while heartbeats can be tracked at 83% accuracy.
Wi-Fi signals can also be used to track movement, including detecting human presence, whether a person is walking, standing, or sitting, and even detecting movement through walls in some conditions. This technology has been widely studied, and the results are concerning, as it can be used to monitor and track individuals without their knowledge or consent.
