Ukrainian President Zelenskyy has accused Russian President Putin of pursuing an endless war in Ukraine, rejecting accusations from President Trump that he is not willing to end the conflict.
What happened
Zelenskyy stated that Ukraine has been subjected to another night of Russian missile and drone strikes, targeting energy and other infrastructure, including a medical clinic, school, and residential buildings.
The Ukrainian leader also expressed concerns about the US limiting intelligence and delaying vital supplies, including the use of Starshield, an upgraded military version of Elon Musk's Starlink satellite technology, to intercept Russian drones.
Zelenskyy's comments come amid an increasingly tense exchange with President Trump, who has softened the US government's policy towards Russia and eased sanctions, allowing Russian energy sales to ease US gas prices.
The Kremlin has attempted to frame Russia as a willing partner in peace efforts, with Putin's spokesman Dmitry Peskov stating that Moscow values US mediation efforts, but that reaching agreements without Ukraine's participation is impossible.
